Major art update, a free gift, and a special request
5 days ago – Tue, Jan 12, 2021 at 12:59:31 AM

Happy 2021!!

We hope you are all doing well in these first few weeks of the new year! We have an awesome update for you today, so let's get to it!

Latest Artwork

We have finalized nearly 100% of the artwork for both Dungeon Drop: Dropped Too Deep and Tavern Tales. Here's some of the latest samples for your viewing pleasure!

We hope you like what you see! The Pledge Manager survey is still open, but we'd like to encourage everyone to close them out as soon as you can, so we can best estimate our order quantities and such. We are not going to impose a deadline just yet, but please do make an effort to close out your survey when you can. If you lost your survey link, you can recover it here: https://dropped-too-deep.backerkit.com/. Thanks!

Most Anticipated Games of 2021 Contest: Free Gift!

Background: For this important contest, we decided to do something different from what we did last year. At the end of this update we are going to ask for your help voting for Dungeon Drop: Dropped Too Deep and Tavern Tales in the Most Anticipated Games of 2021 contest. Last year, we told you that if we achieved certain results we would include bonus cards in our next KS (which we did - these are already included in each of your pledges for Dungeon Drop: Dropped Too Deep!).
But this year, we're going to reverse the order - we are upgrading all copies of Tavern Tales, in anticipation that you will once again be willing to help us out! We are so thankful for all of your participation and support thus far, and we're super proud to offer this excellent component upgrade for Tavern Tales, regardless of what happens with the contest!
So what's the upgrade? If you look at the artwork for Tavern Tales above, you'll see square "Depth" cards and circular "Room" cards. At the start of each game you randomly draw Room cards to place on top of 3 of the Depth cards. That card-based approach would have worked perfectly fine, but we always knew we preferred to make those components punchboard tiles rather than cards. Likewise for the Prestige Trackers.
Well, that's exactly what we're going to do now! The 5 Depth cards, the 5 Prestige Trackers, and the 11 Room cards will all be premium quality punchboard tiles. In fact, the Depth cards will be DOUBLE-THICKNESS tiles, such that the Room cards truly "slot" inside them!! Check out this quick video demonstrating how this will work:

This is a costly upgrade, but one we feel is well worth the added expense. We believe this game deserves to be raised up to this level of quality, and we believe YOU deserve to have this leveled-up game experience! We also hope you will consider voting for us in the contest outlined below...

A Special Request

Once again we'd love to ask for your help voting for both these games in the Most Anticipated Game of 2021 contest, if you have a BoardGameGeek account. All you need to do is click the 2 links to BoardGameGeek below and give each of these entries a THUMBS UP sometime in the next couple days:

Please note that if this works, then there will be a round 2 voting wave that we'll ask for your help with again, in about a week or two.

Thanks so much in advance for your support!! Cheers!

Happy Holidays!

Wishing you the happiest of holidays!

We hope you're enjoying this holiday season as best you can during these very strange times!

We've been doing great finalizing all remaining artwork and refining the rules for Dungeon Drop and Tavern Tales. The Pledge Manager is still open for those who have not yet completed it, but we would like to close it out soon. If you need to recover your Pledge Manager survey link, go here: https://dropped-too-deep.backerkit.com/

We'll provide a deeper update following the holidays, so for now please stay safe and warm, and hopefully get in a game or two of Dungeon Drop with your loved ones!!

Cheers!

Tavern Tales artwork update
2 months ago – Wed, Nov 11, 2020 at 12:22:27 AM

Hello all!

We are hard at work finalizing all the artwork for both Dungeon Drop: Dropped Too Deep and Tavern Tales. We have completed all the Tavern Tales Feat cards, so we wanted to show you our progress so far on those and other components.

Also note that we are keeping the Tavern Tales mod on Tabletop Simulator up to date as we finalize art and cards like these, so if you are interested in checking it out you can do so anytime in the Steam Workshop. And if you want to play a game with us, feel free to join our Discord server anytime - we have played many games with members of this community over the past few weeks, and we'll continue to do so!

Enjoy!

Card backs (Feat / Hero decks):

Gems, Treasure Chest, and Mimic Feats:

Monster Kill Feats:

Other Treasure and the Royal Quest Feats:

Adventurer Power Feats:

Location sketches:

These are not final, but you can see directionally where these are headed, which we are in love with! The finals will be fully colored, brighter, and will have special overlays that match the imagery on the tops of the Hero cards.

Mineshaft
Ice Caves
Caverns
Catacombs
Inferno

Cheers!

And that's a wrap!

What's next?

In the weeks to come we will start talking about the Pledge Manager, plans for manufacturing and fulfillment, and all that other good stuff. But in the meantime, please join us in raising a glass and congratulating all of us who came together to make this dream possible!

That's it for now. You are all amazing, and we can't wait to show you even more cool stuff we have planned for the future! CHEERS!!
